PEER SUPPORT SERVICES

Peer Recovery Specialists play a vital role in  supporting individuals in their journey toward recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. Peer Recovery Specialists provide unique insight into recovery and sobriety.  This is done through education and lived experience.  Madison County PATH has a strong team of Peer Recovery supports.

Parenting

This group supports parents in understanding child development and building effective parenting skills. Topics include developmental stages, positive discipline, communication, and fostering emotional growth. Participants will learn practical strategies to support their child’s needs at each stage. The group encourages shared experiences and peer support to strengthen parenting confidence.

Emotional Regulation

This group focuses on building skills in emotional regulation and anger management. Participants will learn to identify emotional triggers and develop healthy coping strategies. The group will explore techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness, and cognitive reframing to manage intense emotions. Through discussion and practice, members will strengthen their ability to respond rather than react, improving relationships and overall emotional well-being.

Recovery Groups

Matrix Model  (IOP)groups provide structured support for individuals in recovery, focusing on relapse prevention, trigger recognition, and building a healthy routine. Participants engage in education, peer support, and skill-building to maintain long-term sobriety.

Prime for Life groups use evidence-based strategies to help individuals understand the risks of substance use and make positive behavior changes. The group encourages self-reflection, motivation, and informed decision-making.
